Before I begin this post, I need to explain that 'Ala thinks everything that has a round shape is an apple, or at least that's what she calls it. Oranges are apples, lemons are apples, bell peppers are apples, sometimes balls are even apples. On Sunday Jesse picked the kids up from nursery. Ke'ala turns 18 months in a wk so I dropped her off for a little while at the end of church so she can adjust to the class. On the way home he tells me that she was having a conversation with a girl that wasn't too much older than Leva. Mind you, 'Ala can only say one word at a time, not complete sentences. The teacher gave them mini jellybeans for treats and upon seeing them, Ke'ala pointed to them and said "a-poh". The little girl walks straight up to her and is literally an inch or two away from her and says, 'they're not apples, they're jelly beans!' Ke'ala gave her a blank stare and says, 'a-poh' , again. This went on for a little while, Jesse said the little girl was getting so frustrated with 'ala, her arms were raised as she repeated, 'Jelly beans! They're jellybeans!' All the while ke'ala kept saying 'apple? apple..' I know ke'ala didn't have a clue of what the girl was saying.. i just wish i was there for it.
I caught these 2 after church. I had a bag of jellybeans hidden in the room, they obviously found them, but it had gone quiet for a while so i went looking for them. I found them in a corner of the back of the house, snuck up on them and took this picture. I was watching them for a little bit before i did and they were stuffing their faces so fast, they knew they'd get caught soon. I couldn't stop laughing.
On another note, I love that they're sharing with each other! They've been playing together alot too, this is what I've been waiting for!!! She'll follow him around the house and copy EVERYTHING he does. Leva always tried to get her to play with him before but she never cared, now she's all into it. They play in the corner of the house and read together. When she drifts off and finds something else to do, he'll call her and say, "kuh-ala come share wit me!" or "come play wit me kuh-ala, come find me!" They're soo cute, seeing them like this makes it totally worth having them so close together in age.
