AAPPLE!

Before I begin this post, I need to explain that 'Ala thinks everything that has a round shape is an apple, or at least that's what she calls it. Oranges are apples, lemons are apples, bell peppers are apples, sometimes balls are even apples. On Sunday Jesse picked the kids up from nursery. Ke'ala turns 18 months in a wk so I dropped her off for a little while at the end of church so she can adjust to the class. On the way home he tells me that she was having a conversation with a girl that wasn't too much older than Leva. Mind you, 'Ala can only say one word at a time, not complete sentences. The teacher gave them mini jellybeans for treats and upon seeing them, Ke'ala pointed to them and said "a-poh". The little girl walks straight up to her and is literally an inch or two away from her and says, 'they're not apples, they're jelly beans!' Ke'ala gave her a blank stare and says, 'a-poh' , again. This went on for a little while, Jesse said the little girl was getting so frustrated with 'ala, her arms were raised as she repeated, 'Jelly beans! They're jellybeans!' All the while ke'ala kept saying 'apple? apple..' I know ke'ala didn't have a clue of what the girl was saying.. i just wish i was there for it.

I caught these 2 after church. I had a bag of jellybeans hidden in the room, they obviously found them, but it had gone quiet for a while so i went looking for them. I found them in a corner of the back of the house, snuck up on them and took this picture. I was watching them for a little bit before i did and they were stuffing their faces so fast, they knew they'd get caught soon. I couldn't stop laughing.

On another note, I love that they're sharing with each other! They've been playing together alot too, this is what I've been waiting for!!! She'll follow him around the house and copy EVERYTHING he does. Leva always tried to get her to play with him before but she never cared, now she's all into it. They play in the corner of the house and read together. When she drifts off and finds something else to do, he'll call her and say, "kuh-ala come share wit me!" or "come play wit me kuh-ala, come find me!" They're soo cute, seeing them like this makes it totally worth having them so close together in age.

Quirks

Ke'ala's been doing the weirdest things lately. She started to suck on her lower lip a few weeks back. I cannot for the life of me get her to stop. I'll pull her lip out and she'll continue to do it.. Jesse even tried putting vinegar on her lower lip. Girlfriend licked her lip until the vinegar was gone- obviously didn't like it by the look on her face- and put it back in her mouth and continued to suck on the dang thing. Just recently she started this fetish with pulling on her ear. Most of the time she'll pull on her right ear, but she switches it up once in a while. She looks like the biggest goof ball. When we're holding her to put her to sleep, sometimes she'll play with our ears when she can't feel hers. Laverne says that all she has to do is find something to do with her other hand and it'll all be over. Ala's such a funny girl. She's definitely entertaining.

Play day at the beach

It's warmed up a bit and saturday was a great day to take the kids to the beach, we didn't go to swim because the water is still cold, it probably won't warm up until next month or May, but it was still nice to let the kids run along the beach side. We've been having a problem with Leva peeing everywhere. In Hawaii Leva would help my dad out in the garden with all the plants and he'd constantly have to go to the bathroom. Rather than bringing him into the house all the time, my dad taught him how to "go" outside. Ever since then, whenever we're outside and he has to go, within a split second he drops his pants and goes..in parking lots, in front of the house.. at the park.. at the beach..we've got to be quick to catch him.. Boys are so funny!
I don't know how this girl always seems to get sand stuck all over herself! By the time we left the beach, she had sand stuck to every nook and cranny of her small body.. leva had hardly any.

on a lighter note..

Sesi 3 months!

screaming MAAAMAAA!
aLA'S first time attempting the board

The weather picked up today and we took Leva out of the house. He'd been begging to go outside or to swim but its still unusually cold here...(BUT IT'S NOT HUMID!! WAHOO!) Today we finally let leva outside without a sweater. By the way- It's a reeeaally short video.

I wish I would've caught his reaction when we finally let him out. He's been saying this alot lately, "Me so happy, me so happy, I'm happy Mama!". When we let him out he jumped on his bike and shouted, "I'm happy mama! I looooooooovvveee yyyyyooooooouuuu!".. just like that. I love that kid! In this video he told me he was happy..

Sob Fest

I got the kids out of the bath on Friday and usually when I'm working with Ke'ala and Leva I give them something to do while I'm working with one and then switch and help the other child.  I decided to call Ela (my younger sis)  in Hawaii since I hadn't called her in a while and let them talk to her while i was lotioning and all that good stuff.

Leva got on the phone and I asked him if he wanted Ela to come over.  I didn't think he knew the difference or wasn't old enough to fully understand that we no longer live with my family, or that they weren't around.   By the look on his face, I could tell he was thinking about it and all of a sudden he had THE SADDEST look on his face.  He started to pout as Ela was comforting him on the phone.  She tried to cheer him up and asked if he wanted to speak to my dad.  As soon as he heard my dad's voice, it was over.  I couldn't get him to calm down, huge gator tears everywhere. Everytime I tried to take the phone away he kept telling me, "Wa-wai talk on the phone!" (cause that's how ke'ala says his name so he says it that way sometimes) or 'I wana talk to Ela!- (or Grampa) He just would not give it up.  Then of course, I started to lose it..uh-oh.. here i go again,....(biting my lip..lets try to get thru this).. lol.. I just couldn't hold myself together.  We basically cried on the phone until it went dead, I could only imagine what my poor mother-in-law was thinking, Leva was bawling like something terrible had happened.. I finally pulled myself together, got leva to stop crying and went to bed.
The next day at church we saw a boy that was about the same height as my 6 yr old nephew (Mai) that Leva grew up with.  His back was faced torwards us and when Leva saw him he started screaming, 'Mai- mai! Mai -mai!' He ran up to see his face, all the while saying Mai and when he saw that it wasn't him, Leva had a look on his face like someone had just tricked him, he totally didn't understand.  Jesse and I couldnt stop laughing, but I had such mixed emotions, I didnt know whether to laugh or cry so I kept laughing to stop myself from crying..lol.  During sacrament Leva kept asking where Grama and Grampa were and Ela and Marwin and uncle Sale.. I explained that they were in Hawaii and were probably still sleeping.  I knew it'd be hard to be away from my family, especially since this is the first time in my 25 yrs of life that I'd be totally out of reach from them.  Usually I'm always at least a state next door or just a short drive away from anyone of them, heck, even just a door away..heheee. What I didn't think of was the way it would affect my kids and how their reactions are affecting me now.  I love that they are so close with my family members and I know that if they're not already, they'll have that same relationship with Jesse's side of the family and that makes me happy.  It's a comfort to know that anywhere they go, whether it's with my fam or Jesse's that the kids will be and will feel loved and comforted.

I was busy packing and all the kids were playing on the bed,  I turned to find Sesi's face like this.  I was wondering what in the world was on his face and how it got there, so I started searching the bed for anything that was left behind. Then I saw this thing.  She had given him a kiss on the cheek, I have no idea where the chocolate came from.  What a monster!  I love watching them together, just to see what crazy things will come of it.

Airplane

Leva was so excited to ride on the plane.  Even though this wasn't his first time, I think he was old enough this time around to realize what was going on.  We waited around the terminal for the plane to come in Hawaii, i'm so glad it's an outdoor terminal cause when he gets excited, he can't see past ten feet.he kept saying airplane, airplane! but he'd get over excited and by the time the plane would take off he was knocked out sleeping.  At least he was awake for take off when we left Atlanta.Pay no mind to his hair.  Jesse thought he'd take a shot at cutting his hair and it ended up looking like Lloyd's from Dumb and Dumber(jim carrey's character)  all he needs is a chipped tooth and he's good to go.  I'm shaving it off as soon as I can get my hands on a buzzer.
