Ke'ala's first cut

Ke'alas hair has been bugging me for a while. I thought her hair would grow in a little more evenly if I gave it some time. I posted a while back, in Florida, that she had a natural grown mullet, but this mullet has turned into a complete mess. It was getting more obvious, to me, that her hair was growing more on the left, than it was on the right. No one else could see this except for me, because of course, I'm her mom and I notice these little things that drive me crazy. When I pointed it out to other people, they never seemed to notice until I combed her hair. I threatened Jesse that I'd shave it all off so it could grow in evenly, it bothered me anytime I looked at her.
Laverne told me that her sisters hair grew in this way and so did Kelly's. She said that they ended up cutting they're hair into a bob because it was so uneven and asked me if I'd do the same with Ke'alas hair when it came to that point. I said no, i'D probably let it grow out, and hoped that Ke'alas right side would catch up to her left. NO SUCH THING.
Today was the day we finally did something about it. I cut it all off. I didn't want to cut it so short, but that was the longest length that her hair was on the right side of her head. IT's crazy. I've never seen anyone's hair grow in that way. But I love it. It's fun, she looks so cute and funny at the same time. I miss her curls, but I know they'll be back.

I wanted to take her to a salon and get it done, but Jesse insisted that we do it ourselves. Not wanting him to butcher it, because he had the scissors in hand and attempted to cut away, I took it from him and did it. Ke'ala hates having her hair done. HATES IT. The whole time she kept saying, "no mommy, please don't touch my hair." "Thats enough" and "am I done?" But she also says that while I put her hair in pigtails so I don't think she even realizes that her hair is cut. I asked her if she liked her hair afterward and she put her hands over her hair and told me, " no, don't touch my hair, mom!" She would not sit still for the "before" pictures, I didn't get a picture of her face because she was pouting. She was only smiling so hard for the "after" picture because she was eating lunch. The proof is in the pb&j smeared on her cheek. Little piggy, she really has no clue that she just got her hair chopped.
